This webinar will summarise the latest research and guidance while using clinical scenarios to improve participants confidence and ability to identify and manage common skin infections in primary care. In the last 3 years, NICE have published antimicrobial prescribing guidance for skin infection including acne, impetigo, leg ulcer, and cellulitis. Yet, a survey of English prescribers found leg ulcers and cellulitis were in the top 10 conditions where respondents felt they required more evidence to support their daily practice (2). Skin infections are the third highest reason for antibiotic prescriptions in England and account for just over 15% of antibiotics prescribed in primary care (1).
